Guitar Sundays: Live Guitar Performancesat Portsmouth Public Library & Portsmouth Music and Arts CenterSundays, 3 PMThis fall, the Portsmouth Public Library and PMAC (Portsmouth Music and Arts Center), in association with the Boston Classical Guitar Society, will continue their series of live guitar performances called Guitar Sundays, produced and curated by Mitch Shuldman. These free concerts will be held at 3 PM, one Sunday per month, alternating locations between the Levenson Room at the Portsmouth Public Library and the Haas Family Gallery and Recital Hall at PMAC. Drawing from a rich selection of guitar talent from both New Hampshire and the greater Boston area, the series of recitals will highlight the versatility and range of the guitar from classical to jazz to acoustic. October 14 @ Portsmouth Public LibraryMitch Shuldman, Classical GuitarMitch has a BA in Music History & Literature with a concentration on classical guitar. He also holds a MS in Library Science, and an in Ed.D in Education. Mitch was a media librarian at UMass Lowell for nearly 34 years. He currently studies online with Jason Vieaux through Artistworks. (Mr Vieaux currently heads the guitar departments at both the Cleveland & Curtis Institutes of Music). He has recently performed in master classes for Jason Vieaux, David Russell and Petra Polackova. Mitch had a weekly classical guitar radio show on NHPR in the early 80s (1980-84). He currently sings with Portsmouth Pro Musica and plays in a duo of classical flute and guitar (Noteworthy).
