Nickels-Sortwell House, 121 Main Street, Wiscasset, Maine

Experience Wiscasset's romantic past on a twilight tour of this grand 1807 mansion. Built as the trophy house of shipping magnate Captain William Nickels, the house was purchased in 1899 by successful industrialist Alvin Sortwell as a summer home for his family. His wife Gertrude and daughter Frances lovingly restored the house in the Colonial Revival style.
