POSTPONED ~ GOLDENOAK: Maine's family-orientated Indie-folk band

Thursday, August 13, 2020, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Deertrees Theatre welcomes Maine indie-folk band GoldenOak to Harrison on Thursday, August 13, 2020 for their first concert at the top of the hill nestled in the pines. When you think of trendy musical scenes, Portland, Maine might not be first on your list. Yet the homespun, heartwarming music of family-oriented indie folk group GoldenOak provides evidence that the dense woods of the Pine Tree State might just be a better muse than the slick streets of New York and LA. GoldenOak is driven by the songwriting and harmonies of the brother-sister duo Zak and Lena Kendall. After a bit of a recording hiatus and a shift in personnel, the group is back with an enchanting pair of songs. River and Poet And The Painter find this collective simultaneously building on previous strengths while also striking out in an interesting new direction. Read more about the artists: www.goldenoakband.com ABOUT DEERTREES THEATRE In 1936 a stunning opera house was built on the site of an old deer run in the forest above the friendly village of Harrison, Maine, Deertrees Theatre. This summer is our 84th season. The theatre was the vision of opera singer Enrica Clay-Dillon. It was designed by Harrison G. Wiseman, a famous theatre architect of the day who was instructed to create the most acoustically and technically perfect theatre possible. Constructed of rose hemlock, in the Adirondack Style, with hand-carved fixtures and near perfect acoustics, the 300 seat theatre was considered as fine as any on Broadway! Now listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, Deertrees is operated as a non-profit organization and presents a diverse schedule of performances and events, both musical and theatrical, every summer.
